The gradual adjustment of the gas flame makes it easy to set the desired heat level and to adapt to cooking vessels of
different sizes.
Adjustment is done by pressing and turning the control knob counter-clockwise so that the knob's marker points to the
desired symbol:
dot: closed
large flame: full open
small flame: reduced flame.
The burners on your hob can be ignited "using one hand". Press the control knob, turning it anticlockwise at the same time:
several sparks will be emitted, igniting the burner. After the burner has been ignited, maintain sufficient pressure on the knob
for approximately 3-4 seconds to ensure the security device is activated.
If the flame is accidentally extinguished whilst the burner is switched on, the security device begins to operate: the gas flow
is cut off automatically. To reignite the burner, repeat the above procedure.
Note: if there is no electrical current, the burner may be ignited using a match while turning and pressing the knob as
described above.
Warning: If the flame is accidentally extinguished, turn off the control knob and wait for at least 1 minute before
trying to relight it.

Using the rapid plates with integrated safety device
The plate heats up constantly and a safety device prevents it from overheating if it has been used for a long period of time,
or if it has not been used correctly (with an empty or misshapen saucepan, for example).
When you are using a plate with the safety device, setting the temperature control to its highest position (6) will make the
temperature rise almost immediately. Once the plate has begun to heat up, you may set the control knob to other (lower)
positions.
The plate continues to provide heat for approximately 10 minutes after it has been switched off. It is therefore best to switch
it off before you have finished cooking. The plates with the safety device heat up extremely quickly when set to the
maximum (6).
The control knob for the rapid plate with integrated control device has 6 settings (1 - 6). The following information is a
guideline only:
